While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing,

The apostles were still looking carefully up into the sky when suddenly two men appeared. They were wearing white clothes and they stood near the apostles.

and as they were looking stedfastly to the heaven in his going on, then, lo, two men stood by them in white apparel,

They were still looking up to heaven, watching Him go. All at once two men dressed in white stood beside them.

And as He went, while they were looking toward Heaven, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel,

As they strained to get one last glimpse of Him going into heaven, the Lord’s emissaries realized two men in white robes were standing among them.

As they were straining their eyes for another glimpse, suddenly two white-robed men were standing there among them,

While he was departing as they gazed upward toward the sky, suddenly two men dressed in white robes stood beside them,

And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them.

These were his last words. As they watched, he was taken up and disappeared in a cloud. They stood there, staring into the empty sky. Suddenly two men appeared—in white robes! They said, “You Galileans!—why do you just stand here looking up at an empty sky? This very Jesus who was taken up from among you to heaven will come as certainly—and mysteriously—as he left.”

They were looking intently into the sky as he went away. Suddenly, two men in white clothes stood beside them.

When he had said these words he was lifted up before their eyes till a cloud hid him from their sight. This very Jesus who has been taken up from you into Heaven will come back in just the same way as you have seen him go.”
