et ego dixi Domine ipsi sciunt quia ego eram concludens in carcerem et caedens per synagogas eos qui credebant in te

And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on you:

And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on you:

And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:

And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:

So I said, ‘Lord, they know that in every synagogue I imprisoned and beat those who believe on You.

And I said, ‘Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue those who believed in Thee.

And I said, Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:

And I said, “My Lord, they also know that I have delivered to prison and beaten in all our synagogues those who have believed in you.”

And I said, Lord, they themselves know that I was imprisoning and beating in every synagogue those that believe on thee;

And I said: Lord, they know that I cast into prison, and beat in every synagogue, them that believed in thee.

And I said, Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:

And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that in one synagogue after another I imprisoned and beat those who believed in you.

"I said, 'Lord, people here know that I went from synagogue to synagogue to imprison and whip those who believe in you.

But I said, 'Lord, they know that in synagogue after synagogue I had those who believed in You imprisoned and beaten.

"I said, 'Lord, they themselves know that in every synagogue I kept imprisoning and beating those who believe in you.

I replied, 'Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and beat those in the various synagogues who believed in you.

"And I said, 'Lord, they themselves understand that in one synagogue after another I used to imprison and beat those who believed in You.

"'Lord,' I replied, 'these people know that I went from one synagogue to another to imprison and beat those who believe in you.

"'But Lord,' I argued, 'they certainly know that in every synagogue I imprisoned and beat those who believed in you.

And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned, and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:

"'Lord,' I replied, 'they themselves well know how active I was in imprisoning, and in flogging in synagogue after synagogue those who believe in Thee;

I said, 'Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue those who believed in you.

I replied, “Lord, the people here know what I have been doing. They know that I wanted to take hold of all the people who believed in you. I went to all our Jewish meeting places to look for the believers. When I found them, I put them in prison and I hit them with sticks.

and I said, Lord, they -- they know that I was imprisoning and was scourging in every synagogue those believing on thee;

I said, ‘Lord, they know I took Christians out of every Jewish place of worship. I had them beaten and put in prison.

“Then I said, ‘Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat those who believed in You in every Synagogue.

I replied, “But Lord, they all know that I went from synagogue to synagogue imprisoning and beating everyone who believed in You.

“‘But Lord,’ I argued, ‘they certainly know that I imprisoned and beat those in every synagogue who believed on you.

But I replied, ‘Lord, they themselves know that in every synagogue I used to imprison and scourge those who believe in you.

And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves understand that in one synagogue after another I used to imprison and beat those who believed in You.

And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and in every synagogue beat those that believed on thee;

“But I said, ‘Lord, they know that in synagogue after synagogue I had those who believed in you imprisoned and beaten.

And I said, Lord, they themselves well know that throughout all the synagogues I cast into prison and flogged those who believed on (adhered to and trusted in and relied on) You.

But I said, ‘Lord, they know that in every synagogue I put the believers in jail and beat them.

“At first I objected: ‘Who has better credentials? They all know how obsessed I was with hunting out those who believed in you, beating them up in the meeting places and throwing them in jail. And when your witness Stephen was murdered, I was right there, holding the coats of the murderers and cheering them on. And now they see me totally converted. What better qualification could I have?’

“I said, ‘Lord, these people know that I went from one synagogue to another imprisoning and beating those who believed in you.

And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that I used to go from one synagogue to another imprisoning and flogging · those who believed in you.

And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that in every synagogue I imprisoned and beat those who believed in you.

And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue those who believed on you.

‘Lord,’ I answered, ‘they know very well that I went to the synagogues and arrested and beat those who believe in you.

And I said, Lord, they know, that I was closing together in prison, and beating by synagogues them that believed into thee [them that believed in thee].

‘But, Lord,’ I replied, ‘they themselves know that in all the synagogues I used to imprison and beat those who believe in you.

I replied, “Lord, they know that in many of our synagogues I arrested and beat people who had faith in you.

And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that in every synagogue I imprisoned and beat those who believed in thee.

“Then it happened that after my return to Jerusalem, while I was at prayer in the Temple, unconscious of everything else, I saw him, and he said to me, ‘Make haste and leave Jerusalem at once, for they will not accept your testimony about me.’ And I said, ‘But, Lord, they know how I have been through all the synagogues imprisoning and beating all those who believe in you. They know also that when the blood of your martyr Stephen was shed I stood by, giving my approval—why, I was even holding in my arms, the outer garments of those who killed him.’ But he said to me, ‘Go, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles’.”

And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that in every synagogue I imprisoned and beat those who believed in you.

And I said, “Lord, they themselves know that in every synagogue I imprisoned and beat those who believed in you.

I responded, ‘Lord, these people know I used to go from one synagogue to the next, beating those who believe in you and throwing them into prison.

And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know [without any doubt] that in one synagogue after another I used to imprison and beat those who believed in You [and Your message of salvation].

And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that in one synagogue after another I imprisoned and beat those who believed in you.

But I replied, ‘Lord, they themselves know that from synagogue to synagogue I used to imprison and beat those who believed in you.

And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves understand that in one synagogue after another I used to imprison and beat those who believed in You.

But I said, ‘Lord, they [L themselves; very well] know that in every synagogue I put ·the believers [L those who believe in you] in jail and beat them.

“And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that in one synagogue after another, I was imprisoning and beating those trusting in You.

And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that in every synagogue I imprisoned and beat those who believed in thee.

“ ‘Lord,’ I replied, ‘these people know what I used to do. I went from one synagogue to another and put believers in prison. I also beat them.

And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:

I said, ‘Lord, they know themselves that in every synagogue I used to imprison and flog those who trusted in you;

And I said, "Lord, they know that I put in prison those who believed in you. I beat them in all the meeting houses.

And I said, “Lord, they themselves know that in every synagogue I imprisoned and beat those who believed in you.

"And I said ‘Adoni, they themselves have da’as that in every shul I was imprisoning and beating the ones with emunah in you.

“I said, ‘Lord, people here know that I went from synagogue to synagogue to imprison and whip those who believe in you.

“I said, ‘Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat those who believed in You in every synagogue.

“I said, ‘But, Lord, the people know that I was the one who put the believers in jail and beat them. I went through all the synagogues to find and arrest the people who believe in you.

But I said, ‘Lord, they know that in every synagogue I put the believers in jail and beat them.

And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that from synagogue to synagogue I was imprisoning and beating those who believed in you.

‘“Lord,” I replied, “these people know that I went from one synagogue to another to imprison and beat those who believe in you.

And I said, ‘Lord, they themselves know that throughout the synagogues I was imprisoning and beating the ones putting-faith upon You.
