They only were hearing it said, “He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.”

The only thing they had heard was this: "The man who persecuted us is now spreading the faith that he once tried to destroy."

they simply kept hearing: "He who formerly persecuted us now preaches the faith he once tried to destroy."

The only thing they kept hearing was this: "The man who used to persecute us is now proclaiming the faith he once tried to destroy!"

They were only hearing, "The one who once persecuted us is now proclaiming the good news of the faith he once tried to destroy."

but only, they kept hearing, "He who once persecuted us is now preaching the faith which he once tried to destroy."

They only heard the report: "The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy."

All they knew was that people were saying, "The one who used to persecute us is now preaching the very faith he tried to destroy!"

But they had heard only, That he who persecuted us in times past, now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.

They only heard it said, "He who was once our persecutor is now telling the Good News of the faith of which he formerly made havoc."

but they only heard: "He who once persecuted us now preaches the faith that he once tried to destroy."

They had only heard people say this about me: ‘This man caused bad trouble against us Christians before. He tried to destroy God's message about Jesus. But now he himself is telling people the good news about Jesus, so that they believe.’

and only they were hearing, that `he who is persecuting us then, doth now proclaim good news -- the faith that then he was wasting;'

The only thing they heard was, “The one who tried to destroy the Christian church is now preaching the Good News!”

And they glorified God in me.

But stories of my call and mission preceded me: “The very man who wanted to kill us all is now preaching the faith he once labored to destroy.”

All they knew was what people were saying, that “our former enemy is now preaching the very faith he tried to wreck.”

They had only heard it said, “The one who was formerly persecuting us is now preaching the faith that he had once tried to destroy.”

but only, they kept hearing, “He who once persecuted us is now proclaiming the good news of the faith which he once tried to destroy.”

but they had only heard, That he who persecuted us in time past now preaches the faith which he once destroyed.

They simply kept hearing, “He who formerly persecuted us now preaches the faith he once tried to destroy.”

They were only hearing it said, He who used to persecute us is now proclaiming the very faith he once reviled and which he set out to ruin and tried with all his might to destroy.

They had only heard it said, “This man who was attacking us is now preaching the same faith that he once tried to destroy.”

Then I began my ministry in the regions of Syria and Cilicia. After all that time and activity I was still unknown by face among the Christian churches in Judea. There was only this report: “That man who once persecuted us is now preaching the very message he used to try to destroy.” Their response was to recognize and worship God because of me!

They heard only: “The one who was once persecuting us is now preaching the faith that he once tried to destroy.”

They only · kept hearing, “The one who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith that he once tried to destroy.”

they only heard it said, “The one who formerly was persecuting us is now proclaiming the faith he once tried to destroy.”

but they only heard that he who persecuted them in time past, now preaches the faith that before he destroyed.

They knew only what others were saying: “The man who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith that he once tried to destroy!”

and they had only an hearing, that he that pursued us sometime, preacheth now the faith [now evangelizeth the faith], against which he fought sometime;

They simply heard that the one who had been persecuting them was now announcing the good news of the faith which he once tried to destroy.

They had only heard that the one who had been cruel to them was now preaching the message that he had once tried to destroy.

they only heard it said, “He who once persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.”

All this that I am telling you is, I assure you before God, the plain truth. Later, I visited districts in Syria and Cilicia, but I was still personally unknown to the churches of Judea. All they knew of me, in fact, was the saying: “The man who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” And they thanked God for what had happened to me.

They had only heard it said, “This man who was ·attacking [persecuting] us is now preaching the same faith that he once tried to destroy.”

they only kept hearing, “The one who once persecuted us now proclaims the Good News he once tried to destroy!”

they only heard it said, “He who once persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.”

They only heard others say, “The man who used to attack us has changed. He is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.”

But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.

they were only hearing the report, “The one who used to persecute us now preaches the Good News of the faith he was formerly out to destroy”;

They only heard people say, `This is the man who used to trouble us and he is now telling others to believe what he once tried to stop.'

they only heard it said, ‘The one who formerly was persecuting us is now proclaiming the faith he once tried to destroy.’

Only they were hearing that "the one once bringing redifah (persecution) upon us is now preaching the [Messianic Orthodox Jewish] Emunah which once he was pillaging."

The only thing they had heard was this: “The man who persecuted us is now spreading the faith that he once tried to destroy.”

They had heard only, “He who persecuted us in times past now preaches the faith which he once destroyed.”

They had only heard this about me: “This man was persecuting us. But now he is telling people about the same faith that he once tried to destroy.”

They had only heard this about me: “This man was trying to hurt us. But now he is preaching the same faith that he once tried to destroy.”

and they were only hearing, “The one formerly persecuting us is now proclaiming the faith that formerly he was attempting to destroy,”

They only heard the report: ‘The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.’

but they were only hearing that “the one once persecuting us is now announcing-as-good-news the faith which he was once destroying”.
