nos autem fratres secundum Isaac promissionis filii sumus
Now we, brothers, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise.
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise.
But we, my brethren, are children of The Promise like Isaac.
But ye, brethren, after the pattern of Isaac, are children of promise.
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise.
Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.
Now you, brothers and sisters, are children of the promise like Isaac.
Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.
So you, brothers, are children of the promise, like Isaac.
But you, brothers and sisters, are children of the promise like Isaac.
And you brethren, like Isaac, are children of promise.
Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise.
And you, dear brothers and sisters, are children of the promise, just like Isaac.
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
But you, brethren, like Isaac, are children born in fulfilment of a promise.
Now we, brothers, as Isaac was, are children of promise.
You, my Christian friends, are like Sarah's son, Isaac. Like him, you became God's children as a result of God's promise.
And we, brethren, as Isaac, are children of promise,
Christian brothers, we are like Isaac. We are the children God promised.
Therefore, brothers, we are like Isaac: children of the promise.
So you see now, brothers and sisters, you are children of the promise like Isaac.
You and I, dear brothers, are the children that God promised, just as Isaac was.
Now you, brethren, are, like Isaac, the children of the promise.
And you brothers, in accordance with Isaac, are children of promise.
So that we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Now you too, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise.
But we, brethren, are children [not by physical descent, as was Ishmael, but] like Isaac, born in virtue of promise.
My brothers and sisters, you are God’s children because of his promise, as Isaac was then.
Tell me now, you who have become so enamored with the law: Have you paid close attention to that law? Abraham, remember, had two sons: one by the slave woman and one by the free woman. The son of the slave woman was born by human plotting; the son of the free woman was born by God’s promise. This illustrates the very thing we are dealing with now. The two births represent two ways of being in relationship with God. One is from Mount Sinai in Arabia. It corresponds with what is now going on in Jerusalem—a slave life, producing slaves as offspring. This is the way of Hagar. In contrast to that, there is an invisible Jerusalem, a free Jerusalem, and she is our mother—this is the way of Sarah. Remember what Isaiah wrote: Rejoice, barren woman who bears no children, shout and cry out, woman who has no birth pangs, Because the children of the barren woman now surpass the children of the chosen woman. Isn’t it clear, friends, that you, like Isaac, are children of promise? In the days of Hagar and Sarah, the child who came from faithless plotting (Ishmael) harassed the child who came—empowered by the Spirit—from the faithful promise (Isaac). Isn’t it clear that the harassment you are now experiencing from the Jerusalem heretics follows that old pattern? There is a Scripture that tells us what to do: “Expel the slave mother with her son, for the slave son will not inherit with the free son.” Isn’t that conclusive? We are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.
Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of the promise.
But you, my brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.
Now you, my friends, are children of the promise, like Isaac.
Brethren, we are like Isaac: children of promise.
Now, you, my friends, are God's children as a result of his promise, just as Isaac was.
For, brethren, we be sons of promise after Isaac; [Forsooth, brethren, we be after Isaac the sons of promise;]
Now you, my family, are children of promise, in the line of Isaac.
My friends, you were born because of this promise, just as Isaac was.
Now we, brethren, like Isaac, are children of promise.
Now we, my brothers, are like Isaac, for we are children born “by promise”. But just as in those far-off days the natural son persecuted the “spiritual” son, so it is today. Yet what is the scriptural instruction? ‘Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.’
Now you, my brothers and sisters, are children of the promise, like Isaac.
Now you, my friends, are children of the promise, like Isaac.
Brothers and sisters, you are children of the promise like Isaac.
And we, [believing] brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children [not merely of physical descent, like Ishmael, but are children born] of promise [born miraculously].
Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.
Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of the promise.
And you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise.
