καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς· Τί ὅτι ἐζητεῖτέ με; οὐκ ᾔδειτε ὅτι ἐν τοῖς τοῦ πατρός μου δεῖ εἶναί με;

kai eipen pros autous* Ti oti ezeteite me; ouk edeite oti en tois tou patros mou dei einai me;

et ait ad illos quid est quod me quaerebatis nesciebatis quia in his quae Patris mei sunt oportet me esse

And he said to them, How is it that you sought me? knew you not that I must be about my Father's business?

And he said unto them, How is it that you sought me? knew you not that I must be about my Father's business?

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”

And He said unto them, “How is it that ye sought Me? Knew ye not that I must be about My Father’s business?”

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? knew ye not that I must be in my Father's house?

He said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Do you not know that it was fitting for me to be in my Father's house?”

And he said to them, Why is it that ye have sought me? did ye not know that I ought to be occupied in my Father's business?

And he said to them: How is it that you sought me? did you not know, that I must be about my father's business?

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be in my Father's house?

And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

Jesus said to them, "Why were you looking for me? Didn't you realize that I had to be in my Father's house?"

"Why were you searching for Me?" He asked them. "Didn't you know that I had to be in My Father's house?"

He asked them, "Why were you looking for me? Didn't you know that I had to be in my Father's house?"

But he replied, "Why were you looking for me? Didn't you know that I must be in my Father's house?"

And He said to them, "Why is it that you were looking for Me? Did you not know that I had to be in My Father's house?"

"Why were you searching for me?" he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?"

"But why did you need to search?" he asked. "Didn't you know that I must be in my Father's house?"

And he said to them, How is it that ye sought me? knew ye not that I must be about my Father's business?

"Why is it that you have been searching for me?" He replied; "did you not know that it is my duty to be engaged upon my Father's business?"

He said to them, "Why were you looking for me? Didn't you know that I must be in my Father's house?"

Jesus answered them, ‘You should not have needed to look for me. I must be doing what my Father wants me to do. You should have known that.’

And he said unto them, `Why [is it] that ye were seeking me? did ye not know that in the things of my Father it behoveth me to be?'

He said to them, “Why were you looking for Me? Do you not know that I must be in My Father’s house?”

Then He said to them, “How is it that you sought Me? Did you not know that I must go about My Father’s business?”

Jesus: Why did you need to look for Me? Didn’t you know that I must be working for My Father?

“But why did you need to search?” he asked. “Didn’t you realize that I would be here at the Temple, in my Father’s House?”

Jesus said to them, “Why were you searching for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

And He said to them, “Why is it that you were searching for Me? Did you not know that I had to be in My Father’s house?”

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? Knew ye not that it behooves me to be about my Father’s business?

“Why were you searching for me?” he asked them. “Didn’t you know that it was necessary for me to be in my Father’s house?”

And He said to them, How is it that you had to look for Me? Did you not see and know that it is necessary [as a duty] for Me to be in My Father’s house and [occupied] about My Father’s business?

Jesus said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

He said, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I had to be here, dealing with the things of my Father?” But they had no idea what he was talking about.

He said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be taking care of my Father’s business?”

And he said to them, “Why is it that you were looking for me? Did you not know that I would have to be in · · my Father’s house?”

He said to them, “Why were you searching for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

And he said to them, How is it that you were searching for me? Did you not know that I must go about my Father’s business?

He answered them, “Why did you have to look for me? Didn't you know that I had to be in my Father's house?”

And he said to them, What is it that ye sought me? knew ye not that in those things that be of my Father [wist ye not, that in those things that be my Father's], it behooveth me to be?

“Why were you looking for me?” he replied. “Didn’t you know that I would have to be involved with my father’s work?”

Jesus answered, “Why did you have to look for me? Didn't you know that I would be in my Father's house?”

And he said to them, “How is it that you sought me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

And Jesus replied, “But why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

He said to them, “Why were you searching for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

He said to them, ‘Why were you searching for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?’

Jesus replied, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that it was necessary for me to be in my Father’s house?”

And He answered, “Why did you have to look for Me? Did you not know that I had to be in My Father’s house?”

And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?”

He said to them, “Why were you searching for Me? Didn’t you know that I must be about the things of My Father?”

And he said to them, “How is it that you sought me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

“Why were you looking for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

He said to them, “Why did you have to look for me? Didn’t you know that I had to be concerning myself with my Father’s affairs?”

He said to them, `Why did you look for me? Did you not know that I had to be in my Father's house?'

He said to them, ‘Why were you searching for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?’

And he said to them, Why is it that you were looking for me? Did you not have daas that I must be in the Beis Avi [i.e., dealing with His affairs]?

Yeshua said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you realize that I had to be in my Father’s house?”

He said to them, “How is it that you searched for Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”

Jesus said to them, “Why did you have to look for me? You should have known that I must be where my Father’s work is.”

Jesus asked, “Why did you have to look for me? You should have known that I must be where my Father’s work is!”

And he said to them, “Why were you searching for me? Did you not know that it was necessary for me to be in the house of my Father?”

‘Why were you searching for me?’ he asked. ‘Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?’

And He said to them, “Why is it that you were looking-for Me? Did you not know that I must be in the things of My Father?
