kai os ran thele [?]en umin einai[?] protos, estai panton doulos*

et quicumque voluerit in vobis primus esse erit omnium servus

And whoever of you will be the most chief, shall be servant of all.

And whosoever of you will be the first, shall be servant of all.

“And he among you who wants to be the first will be a servant to all.”

and whosoever would be first of you shall be bondman of all.

and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all.

Whoever wants to be most important among you will be a slave for everyone.

and whoever wants to be first among you must be a slave to all.

“And whoever desires to be your leader shall be the servant of all.

Whoever wants to be great among you must be slave of all.

And whoever wants to be greatest of all must be the slave of all.

and whoever wishes to be first among you must be the servant of all.

and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all.

and whosoever of you that desires to be first shall be slave of all.

and whoever wants to be first among you will be a slave to all.

And whoever wishes to be most important and first in rank among you must be slave of all.

Whoever wants to become the first among you must serve all of you like a slave.

When the other ten heard of this conversation, they lost their tempers with James and John. Jesus got them together to settle things down. “You’ve observed how godless rulers throw their weight around,” he said, “and when people get a little power how quickly it goes to their heads. It’s not going to be that way with you. Whoever wants to be great must become a servant. Whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave. That is what the Son of Man has done: He came to serve, not to be served—and then to give away his life in exchange for many who are held hostage.” * * *

and whoever wants to be first among you will be a slave of all.

When the other ten heard about this, they began to be highly indignant with James and John; so Jesus called them all to him, and said, “You know that the so-called rulers in the heathen world lord it over them, and their great men have absolute power. But it must not be so among you. No, whoever among you wants to be great must become the servant of you all, and if he wants to be first among you he must be the slave of all men! For the Son of Man himself has not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life to set many others free.”

Whoever wants to be most important among you will be a slave for everyone.

and whoever among you would be greatest must be servant of all.

Whoever wants to be first must serve the rest of you like a slave.

If one of you wants to become the most important, then he must serve all of you like a slave.

and whoever wants to be most prominent among you must be the slave of all.

and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.
