Sometime around three o’clock Jesus called out in a loud voice. Jesus: Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? Jesus was speaking, as in the psalms, “My God, My God, why have You turned Your back on Me?”
Then Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” (“My God, my God, why have you deserted me?” )

At noon the sky became extremely dark. The darkness lasted three hours. At three o’clock, Jesus groaned out of the depths, crying loudly, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”

At midday darkness spread over the whole countryside and lasted until three o’clock in the afternoon, and at three o’clock Jesus cried out in a loud voice, ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’
