non est autem scriptum tantum propter ipsum quia reputatum est illi
Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him,
Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him,
Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was reckoned unto him;
And this was not written for his sake alone that his faith was accounted for righteousness,
Now it was not written on his account alone that it was reckoned to him,
Now it is not written only for him, that it was reputed to him unto justice,
Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was reckoned unto him;
But the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone,
But the words "his faith was regarded as God's approval of him" were written not only for him
Now it was credited to him was not written for Abraham alone,
Now the words "it was credited to him" were written not only for him
But the statement it was credited to him was not written only for Abraham's sake,
Now not for his sake only was it written that it was credited to him,
The words "it was credited to him" were written not for him alone,
And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn't just for Abraham's benefit. It was recorded
Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
Nor was the fact of its being placed to his credit put on record for his sake only;
Now it was not written that it was accounted to him for his sake alone,
Think about those words, ‘God accepted him as right.’ They are not only speaking about Abraham.
And it was not written on his account alone, that it was reckoned to him,
The words, “He was made right with God,” were not for Abraham only.
Now, it is not only written for him that it was counted to him as righteousness,
The story of how faith was credited to Abraham was not recorded for him and him alone,
Now this wonderful statement—that he was accepted and approved through his faith—wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit.
“It was credited to him” was not written with Abraham alone in mind.
Now not for his sake only was it written that it was counted to him,
Now it is not written for his sake alone that it was so reckoned to him,
Now it was credited to him was not written for Abraham alone,
But [the words], It was credited to him, were written not for his sake alone,
Those words (“God accepted Abraham’s faith”) were written not only for Abraham
Abraham didn’t focus on his own impotence and say, “It’s hopeless. This hundred-year-old body could never father a child.” Nor did he survey Sarah’s decades of infertility and give up. He didn’t tiptoe around God’s promise asking cautiously skeptical questions. He plunged into the promise and came up strong, ready for God, sure that God would make good on what he had said. That’s why it is said, “Abraham was declared fit before God by trusting God to set him right.” But it’s not just Abraham; it’s also us! The same thing gets said about us when we embrace and believe the One who brought Jesus to life when the conditions were equally hopeless. The sacrificed Jesus made us fit for God, set us right with God.
Now the statement “it was credited to him” was not written for him alone,
But the statement, “it was credited to him,” was not written for his sake alone,
Now the words, “it was reckoned to him,” were written not for his sake alone,
It is not written for him only that faith was reckoned to him for righteousness,
The words “he was accepted as righteous” were not written for him alone.
And it is not written only for him, that it was areckoned [reckoned] to him to rightwiseness,
But it wasn’t written for him alone that “it was calculated to him.”
just as we read in the Scriptures. But these words were not written only for Abraham.
But the words, “it was reckoned to him,” were written not for his sake alone,
Now this counting of faith for righteousness was not recorded simply for Abraham’s credit, but as a divine principle which should apply to us as well. Faith is to be reckoned as righteousness to us also, who believe in him who raised from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ, who was delivered to death for our sins and raised again to secure our justification.
Now the words, “it was reckoned to him,” were written not for his sake alone
Now the words, ‘it was reckoned to him’, were written not for his sake alone,
But the scripture that says it was credited to him wasn’t written only for Abraham’s sake.
Now not for his sake alone was it written that it was credited to him,
But the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone,
But it was not for him alone that it was written that “it was credited to him”;
Now not for his sake only was it written that it was credited to him,
Those words (“·God accepted Abraham’s faith [L it was credited/counted to him]”) were written not only for Abraham
Now not only for his sake was it written that it was credited to him,
But the words, “it was reckoned to him,” were written not for his sake alone,
The words “God accepted Abraham’s faith” were written not only for Abraham.
Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
But the words, “it was credited to his account . . . ,” were not written for him only.
The holy writings do not say that for Abraham only.
Now the words, ‘it was reckoned to him’, were written not for his sake alone,
Nor was it written down for his sake alone that "it was reckoned to him,"
But the words “his faith was regarded as the basis of his approval by God” were written not only for him
Now the words, “it was credited to him,” were not written for his sake only,
These words (“he was accepted”) were written not only for Abraham.
Those words (“God accepted Abraham’s faith”) were written not only for Abraham.
But it was not written for the sake of him alone that it was credited to him,
The words ‘it was credited to him’ were written not for him alone,
And it was not written for his sake only that it was credited to him,
