invenio igitur legem volenti mihi facere bonum quoniam mihi malum adiacet
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good.
I find then a law that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
I find then the law, that, to me who would do good, evil is present.
I find, therefore, a law agreeing with my conscience which wants to do good, because evil is near me.
I find then the law upon me who will to practise what is right, that with me evil is there.
I find then a law, that when I have a will to do good, evil is present with me.
I find then the law, that, to me who would do good, evil is present.
So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand.
So I've discovered this truth: Evil is present with me even when I want to do what God's standards say is good.
So I discover this principle: When I want to do what is good, evil is with me.
So I find this to be a principle: when I want to do what is good, evil is right there with me.
So, I find the law that when I want to do good, evil is present with me.
I find then the principle that evil is present in me, the one who wants to do good.
So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me.
I have discovered this principle of life--that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong.
I find then a law, that when I would do good, evil is present with me.
I find therefore the law of my nature to be that when I desire to do what is right, evil is lying in ambush for me.
I find then the law, that, to me, while I desire to do good, evil is present.
So I understand what is happening in me. Whenever I want to do something good, I can only choose something bad.
I find, then, the law, that when I desire to do what is right, with me the evil is present,
This has become my way of life: When I want to do what is right, I always do what is wrong.
I find, therefore, a law that when I would like to do good, evil is present with me.
Here’s an important principle I’ve discovered: regardless of my desire to do the right thing, it is clear that evil is never far away.
It seems to be a fact of life that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong.
I have thus discovered this principle: when I want to do what is good, evil lies close at hand.
I find then the principle that in me evil is present—in me who wants to do good.
So that, desiring to do good, I find this law: evil is natural unto me.
So I discover this law: When I want to do what is good, evil is present with me.
So I find it to be a law (rule of action of my being) that when I want to do what is right and good, evil is ever present with me and I am subject to its insistent demands.
So I have learned this rule: When I want to do good, evil is there with me.
It happens so regularly that it’s predictable. The moment I decide to do good, sin is there to trip me up. I truly delight in God’s commands, but it’s pretty obvious that not all of me joins in that delight. Parts of me covertly rebel, and just when I least expect it, they take charge.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is present with me.
So I find it to be a law that when I want to do · good, evil is present in me. ·
So I find it to be a law that when I want to do what is good, evil lies close at hand.
I find then by the law that when I want to do good, evil is present with me.
So I find that this law is at work: when I want to do what is good, what is evil is the only choice I have.
Therefore I find the law to me willing to do good thing [Therefore I find a law to me willing to do good thing], for evil thing lieth to me (for evil thing lieth before me).
This, then, is what I find about the law: when I want to do what is right, evil lies close at hand!
The Law has shown me that something in me keeps me from doing what I know is right.
So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand.
When I come up against the Law I want to do good, but in practice I do evil. My conscious mind whole-heartedly endorses the Law, yet I observe an entirely different principle at work in my nature. This is in continual conflict with my conscious attitude, and makes me an unwilling prisoner to the law of sin and death. In my mind I am God’s willing servant, but in my own nature I am bound fast, as I say, to the law of sin and death. It is an agonising situation, and who on earth can set me free from the clutches of my sinful nature? I thank God there is a way out through Jesus Christ our Lord.
So I find it to be a law that, when I want to do what is good, evil lies close at hand.
So I find it to be a law that when I want to do what is good, evil lies close at hand.
So I find that, as a rule, when I want to do what is good, evil is right there with me.
So I find it to be the law [of my inner self], that evil is present in me, the one who wants to do good.
So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand.
So, then, I discover the principle that when I want to do right, evil is at hand.
I find then the principle that evil is present in me, the one who wants to do good.
So I ·have learned this rule [or find this principle/law at work]: When I want to do good, evil is ·there with me [present within me; close at hand].
So I find the principle—that evil is present in me, the one who wants to do good.
So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand.
Here is the law I find working in me. When I want to do good, evil is right there with me.
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
So I find it to be the rule, a kind of perverse “torah,” that although I want to do what is good, evil is right there with me!
So there is a law I find that it is at work in me. When I want to do what is right, I can only do what is wrong.
So I find it to be a law that when I want to do what is good, evil lies close at hand.
I find then it be a law that for me who wishes to do HaTov (The Good), that for me HaRah (The Evil) lies ready at hand.
So I’ve discovered this truth: Evil is present with me even when I want to do what God’s standards say is good.
I find then a law that when I desire to do good, evil is present with me.
So I have learned this rule: When I want to do good, evil is there with me.
So I have learned this rule: When I want to do good, evil is there with me.
Consequently, I find the principle with me, the one who wants to do good, that evil is present with me.
So I find this law at work: although I want to do good, evil is right there with me.
I find then the law in me, the one wanting to do the good, that the evil is present in me.
