quid enim proderit homini de universo labore suo et adflictione spiritus qua sub sole cruciatus est
For what has man of all his labor, and of the vexation of his heart, wherein he has labored under the sun?
For what has man for all his labor, and for the striving of his heart, with which he has labored under the sun?
For what hath man of all his labour, and of the vexation of his heart, wherein he hath laboured under the sun?
For what hath man of all his labour, and of the vexation of his heart, wherein he hath laboured under the sun?
For what has man for all his labor, and for the striving of his heart with which he has toiled under the sun?
For what hath man for all his labor and for the vexation of his heart wherewith he hath labored under the sun?
For what hath a man of all his labor, and of the striving of his heart, wherein he laboreth under the sun?
For what will man have of all his labour and of the striving of his heart, wherewith he hath wearied himself under the sun?
For what profit shall a man have of all his labour, and vexation of spirit, with which he bath been tormented under the sun?
For what hath a man of all his labour, and of the striving of his heart, wherein he laboureth under the sun?
What has a man from all the toil and striving of heart with which he toils beneath the sun?
What do people get from all of their hard work and struggles under the sun?
For what does a man get with all his work and all his efforts that he labors at under the sun?
For what does a person gain from everything that he accomplishes and from his inner life struggles that he undergoes while working on earth?
What does a man acquire from all his labor and from the anxiety that accompanies his toil on earth?
For what does a man get in all his labor and in his striving with which he labors under the sun?
What do people get for all the toil and anxious striving with which they labor under the sun?
So what do people get in this life for all their hard work and anxiety?
For what hath man of all his labor, and of the vexation of his heart, in which he hath labored under the sun?
For what has a man of all his labor, and of the striving of his heart, in which he labors under the sun?
People have to do a lot of hard work on this earth and it causes them to worry. But in the end, they have nothing.
For what hath been to a man by all his labour, and by the thought of his heart that he laboured at under the sun?
For what does a man get from all his work and trouble under the sun?
What exactly do people get out of all their work and all the stresses they put themselves through here under the sun?
So I turned in despair from hard work as the answer to my search for satisfaction. For though I spend my life searching for wisdom, knowledge, and skill, I must leave all of it to someone who hasn’t done a day’s work in his life; he inherits all my efforts, free of charge. This is not only foolish but unfair. So what does a man get for all his hard work? Days full of sorrow and grief, and restless, bitter nights. It is all utterly ridiculous.
For what does a man gain from all the toil and effort that he has expended under the sun?
For what does a man get in all his labor and in the striving of his heart with which he labors under the sun?
For what does man have of all his labour and of the vexation of his heart in which he has laboured under the sun?
For what does a person get with all his work and all his efforts that he labors at under the sun?
For what has a man left from all his labor and from the striving and vexation of his heart in which he has toiled under the sun?
What do people get for all their work and struggling here on earth?
That’s when I called it quits, gave up on anything that could be hoped for on this earth. What’s the point of working your fingers to the bone if you hand over what you worked for to someone who never lifted a finger for it? Smoke, that’s what it is. A bad business from start to finish. So what do you get from a life of hard labor? Pain and grief from dawn to dusk. Never a decent night’s rest. Nothing but smoke.
For what does a man gain through all his hard work, through all the turmoil in his heart, as he works so hard under the sun?
What do mortals get from all the toil and strain with which they toil under the sun?
You work and worry your way through life, and what do you have to show for it?
For why what shall it profit to a man of all his travail, and torment of spirit, with which he was tormented under [the] sun? (For what shall it profit a person for all his labour, and trials and tribulations, with which he was tormented under the sun?)
What do we really gain from all of our hard work?
What has a man from all the toil and strain with which he toils beneath the sun?
