frustra enim venit et pergit ad tenebras et oblivione delebitur nomen eius
For he comes in with vanity, and departs in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness.
For he comes in with vanity, and departs in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness.
For he cometh in with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness.
For he cometh in with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness.
for it comes in vanity and departs in darkness, and its name is covered with darkness.
for he cometh in with vanity and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness;
for it cometh in vanity, and departeth in darkness, and the name thereof is covered with darkness;
For it cometh in vanity, and departeth in darkness, and its name is covered with darkness;
For he came in vain, and goeth to darkness, and his name shall be wholly forgotten.
for it cometh in vanity, and departeth in darkness, and the name thereof is covered with darkness;
For it comes in vanity and goes in darkness, and in darkness its name is covered.
A stillborn baby arrives in a pointless birth and goes out into the darkness. The darkness then hides its name.
For he comes in futility and he goes in darkness, and his name is shrouded in darkness.
because stillborn children arrive in pointlessness, leave in darkness, and their names are covered in darkness.
Though the stillborn child came into the world for no reason and departed into darkness, though its name is shrouded in darkness,
for it comes in futility and goes into obscurity; and its name is covered in obscurity.
It comes without meaning, it departs in darkness, and in darkness its name is shrouded.
His birth would have been meaningless, and he would have ended in darkness. He wouldn't even have had a name,
For he cometh with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness.
for it comes in vanity, and departs in darkness, and its name is covered with darkness.
The child's birth has no purpose. He immediately goes to a dark place. Nobody ever speaks his name.
For in vanity he came in, and in darkness he goeth, and in darkness his name is covered,
For this child comes for nothing and goes into darkness, and in darkness its name is covered.
because the stillborn arrives in a fleeting breath and then goes nameless into the darkness mourned by no one and buried in an unmarked grave.
For though his birth would then be futile and end in darkness, without even a name,
For that child came in vain and departed in darkness, and in darkness will his name be enveloped.
for that one comes in vanity and goes into darkness; and that one’s name is covered in darkness.
For he came in vain and departs unto darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness.
For he comes in futility and he goes in darkness, and his name is shrouded in darkness.
For [the untimely one] comes in futility and goes into darkness, and in darkness his name is covered.
A baby born dead is useless. It returns to darkness without even a name.
Say a couple have scores of children and live a long, long life but never enjoy themselves—even though they end up with a big funeral! I’d say that a stillborn baby gets the better deal. It gets its start in a mist and ends up in the dark—unnamed. It sees nothing and knows nothing, but is better off by far than anyone living.
Why? Because that baby comes like a vapor and leaves in darkness, and its name gets covered in darkness.
For it comes into vanity and goes into darkness, and in darkness its name is covered;
It does that baby no good to be born; it disappears into darkness, where it is forgotten.
For he cometh in vain, and goeth to darknesses; and his name shall be done away by forgetting.
That child will never live to see the sun or to have a name, and it will go straight to the world of darkness. But it will still find more rest than you,
For it comes into vanity and goes into darkness, and in darkness its name is covered;
For it comes in vanity and goes in darkness, and in darkness its name is covered;
For it comes into vanity and goes into darkness, and in darkness its name is covered;
Because that child arrives pointlessly, then passes away in darkness. Darkness covers its name.
for the miscarriage comes in futility (in vain) and passes into obscurity; and its name is covered in obscurity.
For it comes in vanity and goes in darkness, and in darkness its name is covered.
Though it came in vain and goes into darkness and its name is enveloped in darkness,
for a miscarriage comes in futility and goes into darkness; and its name is covered in darkness.
A ·baby born dead [stillborn] is useless [1:2]. ·It returns to darkness without even a name [L Its name is shrouded/obscured in darkness].
Even though it comes in futility and departs into darkness, though its name is shrouded in darkness,
For it comes into vanity and goes into darkness, and in darkness its name is covered;
That kind of birth doesn’t have any meaning. The baby dies in darkness and leaves this world. And in darkness it is forgotten.
For he cometh in with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness.
For the arrival of a stillborn baby is a futile thing, and its departure is in darkness; its name is [forgotten,] covered in darkness;
For it comes into vanity and goes into darkness, and in darkness its name is covered;
For he cometh in with hevel, and departeth in choshech, and shmo shall be shrouded with choshech.
A stillborn baby arrives in a pointless birth and goes out into the darkness. The darkness then hides its name.
for it comes in vanity and departs in darkness, and in darkness its name is covered up.
It is senseless when a baby is born dead. The baby is quickly buried in a dark grave, without even a name.
It is useless for such a baby to be born. It ends up in the darkness of the grave without even a name.
For he comes into vanity and departs into darkness, and his name is shrouded in darkness.
It comes without meaning, it departs in darkness, and in darkness its name is shrouded.
