ecce hoc inveni dicit Ecclesiastes unum et alterum ut invenirem rationem
Which yet my soul seeks, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.
Which yet my soul seeks, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.
Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.
which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.
Which my soul still seeks but I cannot find: One man among a thousand I have found, But a woman among all these I have not found.
which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: One man among a thousand have I found, but a woman among all those have I not found.
which my soul still seeketh, but I have not found: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.
which my soul yet seeketh, and I have not found: one man among a thousand have I found, but a woman among all those have I not found.
Which yet my soul seeketh, and I have not found it. One man among a thousand I have found, a woman among them all I have not found.
which my soul still seeketh, but I have not found: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.
which my soul has sought repeatedly, but I have not found. One man among a thousand I found, but a woman among all these I have not found.
I am still seeking a reason for things, but have not found any. I found one man out of a thousand who had it, but out of all these I didn't find one woman.
which my soul continually searches for but does not find: among a thousand people I have found one true man, but among all these I have not found a true woman.
Among the things I seek but have not found: one man among a thousand I did find, but I have not found one woman to be wise among all these.
What I have continually sought, I have not found; I have found only one upright man among a thousand, but I have not found one upright woman among all of them.
which I am still seeking but have not found. I have found one man among a thousand, but I have not found a woman among all these.
while I was still searching but not finding-- I found one upright man among a thousand, but not one upright woman among them all.
Though I have searched repeatedly, I have not found what I was looking for. Only one out of a thousand men is virtuous, but not one woman!
Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.
which my soul still seeks; but I have not found. One man among a thousand have I found; but I have not found a woman among all those.
I continued to try to learn more and more. But I could not find the answers. Among one thousand people, I found one good man. But among them all, I did not find a good woman.
(that still my soul had sought, and I had not found), One man, a teacher, I have found, and a woman among all these I have not found.
which I am still looking for but have not found. I have found one man among a thousand, but I have not found a woman among all these.
I realize that although I kept on searching, I have not found what I am looking for. Only one man in a thousand have I found, but I could not find a single woman among all of these who knows this.
This is my conclusion, says the Preacher. Step by step I came to this result after researching in every direction: One tenth of one percent of the men I interviewed could be said to be wise, but not one woman!
which my mind has sought repeatedly but has not yet discovered, I have found one man out of a thousand, but a woman among them all I have not found.
which my soul still seeks but has not found. I have found one man out of a thousand, but I have not found a woman among all these.
which my soul yet seeks, but I find not: one man among a thousand I have found, but a woman among all those I have not found.
which my soul continually searches for but does not find: I found one person in a thousand, but none of those was a woman.
Which I am still seeking but have not found—one upright man among a thousand have I found, but an upright woman among all those [one thousand in my harem] have I not found.
While I was searching, I did not find one man among the thousands I found. Nor did I find a woman among all these.
One discovery: A woman can be a bitter pill to swallow, full of seductive scheming and grasping. The lucky escape her; the undiscerning get caught. At least this is my experience—what I, the Quester, have pieced together as I’ve tried to make sense of life. But the wisdom I’ve looked for I haven’t found. I didn’t find one man or woman in a thousand worth my while. Yet I did spot one ray of light in this murk: God made men and women true and upright; we’re the ones who’ve made a mess of things.
this is something my soul keeps seeking but has not found. One man out of a thousand I have found, but a woman among all these I have not found.
which my mind has sought repeatedly, but I have not found. One man among a thousand I found, but a woman among all these I have not found.
I have looked for other answers but have found none. I found one man in a thousand that I could respect, but not one woman.
which my soul seeketh yet; and (other things) I found not. I found one man of a thousand; and I found not a woman of all. (which my soul yet seeketh; but other things I did not find. I found one man out of a thousand; but I did not find one woman out of all of them.)
but so far I have not been able to. I do know there is one good man in a thousand, but never have I found a good woman.
which my mind has sought repeatedly, but I have not found. One man among a thousand I found, but a woman among all these I have not found.
which my mind has sought repeatedly, but I have not found. One man among a thousand I found, but a woman among all these I have not found.
which my mind has sought repeatedly, but I have not found. One man among a thousand I found, but a woman among all these I have not found.
But there’s something that I constantly searched for but couldn’t find: I found one man among a thousand, but I couldn’t find a woman among any of these.
which I am still seeking but have not found. I have found one man among a thousand [who pleases God], but I have not found [such] a woman among all these [a thousand in my harem].
which my soul has sought repeatedly, but I have not found. One man among a thousand I found, but a woman among all these I have not found.
What my soul still seeks and has yet to find is this: “One man out of a thousand have I found, but a woman among them all I have not found.”
which I am still seeking but have not found. I have found one man among a thousand, but I have not found a woman among all these.
While I was searching and not finding, I found one man among a thousand. But I did not find a woman among all these [C that is a good woman].
which my soul is still seeking, but not finding—I found one upright man among a thousand, but one upright woman among them all I have not found.
which my mind has sought repeatedly, but I have not found. One man among a thousand I found, but a woman among all these I have not found.
I searched and searched but found very little. I did find one honest man among a thousand. But I didn’t find one honest woman among a thousand.
Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.
I searched a long time without finding it: one man in a thousand I have found, but a woman among all those I have not found.
which my mind has sought repeatedly, but I have not found. One man among a thousand I found, but a woman among all these I have not found.
Which yet my nefesh seeketh, but I have not found; one man among a thousand have I found, but a woman among all those have I not found.
I am still seeking a reason for things, but have not found any. I found one man out of a thousand who had it, but out of all these I didn’t find one woman.
which my soul still seeks but I do not find: One man among a thousand I have found, but a woman among all these I have not found.
The Teacher says, “I added all this together to see what answer I could find. I am still looking for answers, but I did find this: I found one good man in a thousand. But I did not find even one good woman.
I am still looking for it, but I have not found it. But I did discover that truly good people are hard to find. Such people are one in a million!
What my heart sought, I did not find. Although I found one righteous man among one thousand, I did not find one upright woman among all these.
while I was still searching but not finding – I found one upright man among a thousand, but not one upright woman among them all.
