Moses took the two flat stones with God's special commands on them. He put them inside the Covenant Box. He put the poles through the rings on the box. He put the special lid on top of the box.

And he taketh and putteth the testimony unto the ark, and setteth the staves on the ark, and putteth the mercy-seat on the ark above;

Then he took the Law and put it into the special box. He put the long pieces of wood on the special box of the agreement. And he put the mercy-seat on top of the special box.

He then placed the stone tablets—as a witness to their agreement—inside the covenant chest. He slid the poles through the rings on the chest and covered the chest with the seat of mercy, where sins are atoned.

Inside the Ark he placed the stones with the Ten Commandments engraved on them, and attached the carrying poles to the Ark and installed the gold lid, the place of mercy.

He took the Testimony and placed it inside the Ark. He attached the poles to the Ark and put the seat of atonement on the Ark.

Then he took the testimony and put it into the ark and attached the poles to the ark and put the mercy seat on top of the ark.

And he took and put the testimony into the ark and set the staves on the ark and put the seat of reconciliation upon the ark above,

He put also the witnessing, that is, the tables of the law, in the ark, and he set the bars within (the rings), and God’s answering place above (the ark). (And he put the Witnessing, that is, the tablets of the Law, into the Ark, that is, the Box for the tablets, and he set the bars within the rings, and he put the propitiatory, that is, the mercy seat, or the lid, on the Box.)

The stones with the Ten Commandments written on them were stored in the sacred chest, the place of mercy was put on top of it, and the carrying poles were attached.

And he took the testimony and put it into the ark, and put the poles on the ark, and set the mercy seat above on the ark;

He took the covenant and put it into the ark and put the poles on the ark and set the cover above the ark,
