And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeks to him;

Both of you will suffer for your sins. The prophet will be as guilty as you are when you ask for his help.

They will bear their punishment--the punishment of the one who inquires will be the same as that of the prophet--

They'll bear the consequences of their guilt, and the prophet will be just as guilty as the one who seeks that prophet's guidance.

They will bear their punishment; the punishment of the one who sought an oracle will be the same as the punishment of the prophet who gave it

They will bear their guilt--the prophet will be as guilty as the one who consults him.

False prophets and those who seek their guidance will all be punished for their sins.

And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh to him;

I will punish both the prophet and the person who asked him for a message. They will both have the same punishment.

And they have borne their iniquity: as the iniquity of the inquirer, so is the iniquity of the prophet;

They will suffer the punishment of their sin. The man who asks the question and the man who speaks to him in My name will both be punished in the same way.

The prophet and the one who inquires of him will be equally guilty and equally punished,

False prophets and hypocrites—evil people who say they want my words—all will be punished for their sins,

The punishments received by the inquirer and the prophet shall be identical,

They will bear the punishment of their iniquity; as the iniquity of the inquirer is, so the iniquity of the prophet will be,

And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity; the iniquity of the prophet shall be even as the iniquity of him that seeks unto him

They will bear their punishment—the punishment of the one who inquires will be the same as that of the prophet—

And they both shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the iniquity of the [presumptuous] prophet shall be the same as the iniquity of the [hypocritical] inquirer,

The prophet will be as guilty as the one who asks him for help; both will be responsible for their guilt.

“‘If a prophet is deceived and tells these idolaters the lies they want to hear, I, God, get blamed for those lies. He won’t get by with it. I’ll grab him by the scruff of the neck and get him out of there. They’ll be equally guilty, the prophet and the one who goes to the prophet, so that the house of Israel will never again wander off my paths and make themselves filthy in their rebellions, but will rather be my people, just as I am their God. Decree of God, the Master.’” * * *

They will bear their guilt. The guilt of the one who seeks guidance will be the same as the guilt of the prophet,

And they shall bear their punishment—the punishment of the inquirer and the punishment of the prophet shall be the same—

Both prophets and anyone who consults them will get the same punishment.

And they shall bear their wickedness; by the wickedness of the asker, so the wickedness of the prophet shall be; (And they shall bear their wickedness; as the wickedness of the asker, so shall be the wickedness of the prophet;)

and anyone who goes to that prophet for a message will be punished in the same way.

And they shall bear their punishment—the punishment of the prophet and the punishment of the inquirer shall be alike—

They [both] will bear the punishment of their wickedness; the sin of the [counterfeit] prophet will be the same as the sin of the [hypocritical] inquirer,

And they shall bear their punishment—the punishment of the prophet and the punishment of the enquirer shall be alike—

They will be punished for their own sins, the inquirer and the prophet alike,

And they will bear the punishment for their wrongdoing; as the wrongdoing of the inquirer is, so the wrongdoing of the prophet will be,

The prophet will be ·as guilty [or punished the same] as the one who asks him for help; both will ·be responsible [or bear the punishment] for their guilt.

They will bear their punishment—the punishment of the prophet will be the same as the punishment of the inquirer—

And they shall bear their punishment—the punishment of the prophet and the punishment of the inquirer shall be alike—

The prophet will be as much to blame as the one who asks him for advice. Both of them will be guilty.

And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him;

The prophets will bear the guilt for their sins — the sin of the prophet will be the same as the sin of the inquirer —

And they shall bear their punishment—the punishment of the inquirer and the punishment of the prophet shall be the same—

And they shall bear the punishment of their avon; the punishment of the navi shall be even as the punishment of him that inquireth of him;

So both the one who came for advice and the prophet who gave an answer will get the same punishment.

And they will bear their guilt, like the guilt of the inquirer so the guilt of the prophet will be,
