" 'I have worn myself out trying to clean this pot. Even the fire can't take away its thick tarnish.
It has frustrated every effort; its thick rust will not come off. Into the fire with its rust!
The pot wearies me, but its thick rust won't come off, even with fire.
It has tried my patience; yet its thick rot is not removed from it. Subject its rot to the fire!
"She has wearied Me with toil, Yet her great rust has not gone from her; Let her rust be in the fire!
It has frustrated all efforts; its heavy deposit has not been removed, not even by fire.
But it's hopeless; the corruption can't be cleaned out. So throw it into the fire.
She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire.
She has wearied [herself] with toil; yet her great rust doesn't go forth out of her; her rust doesn't [go forth] by fire.
Yes, I have tried to make it clean. But the disgusting dirt is still there. So throw the pot and all its dirt on the fire!
[With] sorrows she hath wearied herself, And the abundance of her scum goeth not out of her, In the fire [is] her scum.
But it has been all for nothing. Its rust has not left it, not even by fire.
But she has thwarted My efforts! Her massive corrosion remains when the fire should have cleansed her.
But all for naught—it all remains despite the hottest fire.
Yet not even with fire will its rust disappear.
She has wearied Me with toil, Yet her great rust has not gone from her; Let her rust be in the fire!
In fraud she has become weary, and her great scum did not go forth out of her; her scum shall be in the fire.

But efforts to clean the pot have failed. Its heavy rust cannot be removed, even in the fire.
“‘Therefore, this is what God, the Master, says: “‘Doom to the city of murder! I, too, will pile on the wood. Stack the wood high, light the match, Cook the meat, spice it well, pour out the broth, and then burn the bones. Then I’ll set the empty pot on the coals and heat it red-hot so the bronze glows, So the germs are killed and the corruption is burned off. But it’s hopeless. It’s too far gone. The filth is too thick.
The city has wearied me with its wickedness. Its filthy residue has not been removed from it. Into the fire with its filthy residue!
In vain I have wearied myself; its thick rust does not depart. To the fire with its rust!
although all that corrosion will not disappear in the flames.
It was sweated by much travail (It was sweated over with much travail, or with much labour), and the over-great rust thereof went not out thereof, neither by fire.
I've tried everything else. Now the rust must be burned away.
In vain I have wearied myself; its thick rust does not go out of it by fire.

It’s a worthless task. Even by fire its great corrosion isn’t removed.
“She has wearied Me with toil, Yet her great rust has not left her; Her thick rust and filth will not be burned away by fire [no matter how hot the flame].
She has wearied herself with toil; its abundant corrosion does not go out of it. Into the fire with its corrosion!
The toil is exhausting, but the great filth will not come out— Filth, even with fire.
She has wearied Me with work, Yet her great rust has not gone from her; Let her rust be in the fire!
·But efforts to clean the pot have failed [L It has wearied itself with toil]. Its heavy ·rust [corrosion; rot] cannot be removed, ·even in the fire [or Into the fire with its rust/corrosion!].
It has wearied toil, yet its thick rust will not come out of it. Into the fire with its corrosion!
In vain I have wearied myself; its thick rust does not go out of it by fire.

“‘Jerusalem might work hard to scrub away her stains. But that ‘rust’ will not go away! Only the fire of punishment will remove it.
But efforts to clean the pot have failed. Its heavy rust cannot be removed, even in the fire.
Through effort she has caused weariness; its thick rust went not out of it. Its rust! Into the fire with its rust!
