So we questioned the elders and asked, "Who gave you the order to rebuild this temple and finish this structure?"

We asked the elders, "Who authorized you to build this Temple and to reinforce these walls?"

We inquired of those elders, asking them, 'Who gave you the authority to rebuild this temple and to complete this structure?'

"Then we asked those elders and said to them thus, 'Who issued you a decree to rebuild this temple and to finish this structure?'

We questioned the elders and asked them, "Who authorized you to rebuild this temple and to finish it?"

"We asked the leaders, 'Who gave you permission to rebuild this Temple and restore this structure?'

Then we asked those elders, and said to them thus, Who commanded you to build this house, and to erect these walls?

Then we asked those elders, and said to them thus, "Who gave you a decree to build this house, and to finish this wall?"

We spoke to their leaders and we asked them, ‘Who gave you authority to build this temple and make it ready to use again?’

Then we have asked of these elders, thus we have said to them, Who hath made for you a decree this house to build, and this wall to finish?

We asked those leaders, ‘Who told you to build this house of worship and to finish the building?’

When we saw their progress, we asked the elders who told them to resume the construction:

We asked the leaders, ‘Who has given you permission to do this?’

“We then questioned the elders, asking them: ‘Who gave you permission to build this house and to finish this structure?’

Then we asked those elders and said to them thus, ‘Who issued you a decree to rebuild this house and to complete this structure?’

Then we asked the elders and said unto them thus, Who commanded you to build this house and to found these walls?

So we questioned the elders and asked, “Who gave you the order to rebuild this temple and finish this structure?”

Then we asked those elders, Who authorized you to build this house and restore these walls?

We asked their elders, “Who gave you permission to rebuild this Temple and these walls?”

We asked the leaders, “Who issued you the permit to rebuild this Temple and restore it to use?” We also asked for their names so we could pass them on to you and have a record of the men at the head of the construction work.

Then we questioned those elders, and we said this to them, “Who gave you an order to build this house and to finish this structure?”

Then we spoke to those elders and asked them, ‘Who gave you a decree to build this house and to finish this structure?’

“We then asked the leaders of the people to tell us who had given them authority to rebuild the Temple and to equip it.

Therefore we asked those eld(er) men, and thus we said to them, Who gave to you power to build (again) this house, and to restore these walls? (And so we asked those elders, and we said to them thus, Who gave you the authority to rebuild this House, and to restore these walls?)

We asked those in charge to tell us who gave them permission to rebuild the temple.

Then we asked those elders and spoke to them thus, ‘Who gave you a decree to build this house and to finish this structure?’

Then we spoke to those elders and asked them, ‘Who gave you a decree to build this house and to finish this structure?’

Then we spoke to those elders and asked them, “Who gave you a decree to build this house and to finish this structure?”

We asked those elders, “Who authorized you to build this house and to complete the preparation of this material?”

Then we asked those elders, ‘Who issued you a decree to rebuild this temple and to finish this structure?’

We then questioned the elders, addressing to them the following words: ‘Who issued the decree for you to build this house and complete this edifice?’

Then we asked those elders and said to them as follows: ‘Who issued you a decree to rebuild this temple and to finish this structure?’

We asked their elders, “Who gave you ·permission [authority; a decree] to rebuild this ·Temple [L house] and ·these walls [this structure]?”

Then we questioned those elders, asking them, ‘Who gave you the authority to build this House and to complete this structure?’
