He utterly destroyed them, along with the other cities and villages of the plain, wiping out all the people and every bit of vegetation.

Then God rained brimstone and fire down on Sodom and Gomorrah—a river of lava from God out of the sky!—and destroyed these cities and the entire plain and everyone who lived in the cities and everything that grew from the ground.

The Lord destroyed these cities and the whole valley. All the people who were living in the cities were wiped out. So were the plants in the land.

Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, destroying all those living in the cities – and also the vegetation in the land.
