tu locutus es quod bene mihi faceres et dilatares semen meum sicut harenam maris quae prae multitudine numerari non potest

And you said, I will surely do you good, and make your seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

But you did say, 'I will make sure that you are prosperous and that your descendants will be as many as the grains of sand on the seashore. No one will be able to count them because there are so many.'"

You have said, 'I will cause you to prosper, and I will make your offspring like the sand of the sea, which cannot be counted.'"

Now, you promised me that 'I'm certainly going to cause things to go well with you, and I'm going to make your offspring as numerous as the sand of the sea, which cannot be counted.'"

But you said, 'I will certainly make you prosper and will make your descendants like the sand on the seashore, too numerous to count.'"

"For You said, 'I will surely prosper you and make your descendants as the sand of the sea, which is too great to be numbered.'"

But you have said, 'I will surely make you prosper and will make your descendants like the sand of the sea, which cannot be counted.'"

But you promised me, 'I will surely treat you kindly, and I will multiply your descendants until they become as numerous as the sands along the seashore--too many to count.'"

But you have said, “I will give you many good things. I will give you so many descendants that nobody will be able to count them. They will be as many as the pieces of sand on the shore of the sea.” ’

and Thou -- Thou hast said, I certainly do good with thee, and have set thy seed as the sand of the sea, which is not numbered because of the multitude.'

But You said, ‘I will bring good to you. I will make your children like the sand of the sea. There will be too many to number.’”

Remember You told me, “I will make good things happen for you and make your descendants as many as the grains of sand on the shores, which are too numerous to count.” And Jacob prayed on.

Save me from the hands of my brother Esau because I am afraid of him. Let him not come and kill all of us, even the mothers and children.

Remember that you promised to make everything go well for me and to give me more descendants than anyone could count, as many as the grains of sand along the seashore.”

Thou spakest that thou shouldest do well to me, and wouldest alarge my seed as [the] gravel of the sea, that may not be numbered for muchliness. (Thou saidest that thou wouldest deal well with me, and that thou wouldest enlarge my descendants like the gravel, or like the sand, of the sea, that cannot be counted for all of its muchliness.)

But you have promised that I would be a success and that someday it will be as hard to count my descendants as it is to count the grains of sand along the seashore.

But thou didst say, ‘I will do you good, and make your descendants as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.’”

Yet you have said, ‘I will surely do you good and make your offspring as the sand of the sea, which cannot be counted because of their number.’ ”

Please! Rescue me from my brother ‘Esav! I’m afraid of him, afraid he’ll come and attack me, without regard for mothers or children.
