ergo saltim amodo voca me pater meus dux virginitatis meae tu es
Will you not from this time cry to me, My father, you are the guide of my youth?
Will you not from this time cry unto me, My father, you are the guide of my youth?
Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?
Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?
Will you not from this time cry to Me, ‘My Father, You are the guide of my youth?

Therefore at least at this time call to me: Thou art my father, the guide of my virginity:
Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?
Have you not just now called to me, ‘My father, you are the friend of my youth—
But now you are calling to me. You say, 'Father! You have been my companion ever since I was young.
Have you not lately called to Me, "My Father. You were my friend in my youth.
Have you not just called out to me, 'My father, you are the friend of my youth—
Even now you say to me, 'You are my father! You have been my faithful companion ever since I was young.
"Have you not just now called to Me, 'My Father, You are the friend of my youth?
Have you not just called to me: 'My Father, my friend from my youth,
Yet you say to me, 'Father, you have been my guide since my youth.
Wilt thou not from this time cry to me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?

You still call me your Father. You say, “You have always been my friend. You have loved me all my life.
Hast thou not henceforth called to Me, `My father, Thou [art] the leader of my youth?
Have you not just now called to Me? You said, ‘My Father, You have been my friend since I was young.
But wait, did you just now call out to Me, saying, “My Father, You have been my friend, my confidant since I was young”?
And yet you say to me, “O Father, you have always been my Friend; surely you won’t be angry about such a little thing! Surely you will just forget it?” So you talk and keep right on doing all the evil that you can.
Not so long ago you addressed me, “My Father, the beloved friend of my youth,
Have you not just now called to Me, ‘My Father, You are the close companion of my youth?

“Look around at the hills. Where have you not had sex? You’ve camped out like hunters stalking deer. You’ve solicited many lover-gods, Like a streetwalking whore chasing after other gods. And so the rain has stopped. No more rain from the skies! But it doesn’t even faze you. Brazen as whores, you carry on as if you’ve done nothing wrong. Then you have the nerve to call out, ‘My father! You took care of me when I was a child. Why not now? Are you going to keep up your anger nonstop?’ That’s your line. Meanwhile you keep sinning nonstop.”
Did you not just call to me, “My father! You are my close friend from my youth!”?
Have you not just now called to me, “My Father, you are the friend of my youth—
“And now you say to me, ‘You are my father, and you have loved me ever since I was a child.
