The LORD said to me, "Tell them, 'The LORD says, Do people not get back up when they fall down? Do they not turn around when they go the wrong way?

"Say to them, 'This is what the LORD says: "'When people fall down, do they not get up? When someone turns away, do they not return?

"Jeremiah, say to the people, 'This is what the LORD says: "'When people fall down, don't they get up again? When they discover they're on the wrong road, don't they turn back?

‘Jeremiah, tell the people that this is what I, the Lord, say to them: When people fall down, they get up again. When people realize that they are on the wrong road, they turn around.

And thou hast said unto them: Thus said Jehovah, Do they fall, and not rise? Doth he turn back, and not return?

“You will say to them, ‘This is what the Lord says: “Do men fall and not get up again? Does one turn away and not return?

Eternal One (to Jeremiah): Tell My people that these are My words: “When people stumble and fall, don’t they get up again? When people are lost, don’t they try to find their way back?

Once again give them this message from the Lord: When a person falls, he jumps up again; when he is on the wrong road and discovers his mistake, he goes back to the fork where he made the wrong turn. But these people keep on along their evil path, even though I warn them.

Then you are to say to them, Thus says the Lord: When someone falls, does he not stand up again? If people go astray, do they not turn back?

“Tell them this, God’s Message: “‘Do people fall down and not get up? Or take the wrong road and then just keep going? So why does this people go backward, and just keep on going—backward! They stubbornly hold on to their illusions, refuse to change direction. I listened carefully but heard not so much as a whisper. No one expressed one word of regret. Not a single “I’m sorry” did I hear. They just kept at it, blindly and stupidly banging their heads against a brick wall. Cranes know when it’s time to move south for winter. And robins, warblers, and bluebirds know when it’s time to come back again. But my people? My people know nothing, not the first thing of God and his rule.

You are to tell them that this is what the Lord says: Do people fall and not get up again? If a person turns away, doesn’t he turn back again?

The Lord told me to say to his people, “When someone falls down, doesn't he get back up? If someone misses the road, doesn't he turn back?
