If I wait, the grave is my house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
If I wait, the grave is my house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
If I wait for the grave as my house, If I make my bed in the darkness,
If I wait, the grave is mine house; I have made my bed in the darkness.
If I look for Sheol as my house; If I have spread my couch in the darkness;
If I wait, Sheol is my house; I spread my bed in the darkness:
If I wait hell is my house, and I have made my bed in darkness.
If I look for Sheol as mine house; if I have spread my couch in the darkness;
If I hope for Sheol as my house, if I make my bed in darkness,
If I look for the grave as my home and make my bed in the darkness,
If I await Sheol as my home, spread out my bed in darkness,
"If my hope were that my house is the afterlife itself, if I were to make my bed in darkness,
If I hope for the grave to be my home, if I spread out my bed in darkness,
"If I look for Sheol as my home, I make my bed in the darkness;
If the only home I hope for is the grave, if I spread out my bed in the realm of darkness,
What if I go to the grave and make my bed in darkness?
If I wait, the grave is my house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
If I look for Sheol as my house, if I have spread my couch in the darkness,
The only home that I hope to go to is my grave. I will lie down to sleep there in the dark.
If I wait -- Sheol [is] my house, In darkness I have spread out my couch.
If I look for the place of the dead as my home, I make my bed in the darkness.
If I hope only to live in the land of the dead, if I prepare for myself a bed in the darkness,
“If I die, I go out into darkness, and call the grave my father, and the worm my mother and my sister.
“If I foresee the netherworld as my dwelling, if I spread out my bed in the darkness,
If I hope for Sheol as my home, I make my bed in the darkness;
If I wait, Sheol is my house; I have made my bed in the darkness.
If I await Sheol as my home, spread out my bed in darkness,
But if I look to Sheol (the unseen state) as my abode, if I spread my couch in the darkness,
If the only home I hope for is the grave, if I spread out my bed in darkness,
“Maybe you’d all like to start over, to try it again, the bunch of you. So far I haven’t come across one scrap of wisdom in anything you’ve said. My life’s about over. All my plans are shattered, all my hopes are snuffed out— My hope that night would turn into day, my hope that dawn was about to break. If all I have to look forward to is a home in the graveyard, if my only hope for comfort is a well-built coffin, If a family reunion means going six feet under, and the only family that shows up is worms, Do you call that hope? Who on earth could find any hope in that? No. If hope and I are to be buried together, I suppose you’ll all come to the double funeral!”
If I wait hopefully for the grave to become my house, if I spread out my bed in the darkness,
If I look for Sheol as my house, if I spread my couch in darkness,
My only hope is the world of the dead, where I will lie down to sleep in the dark.
If I sustain, either suffer patiently, hell is mine house; and I have arrayed my bed in darknesses. (If I endure, Sheol, or the grave, shall be my house; and I shall array my bed in darkness.)
I could tell the world below to prepare me a bed.
If I look for Sheol as my house, if I spread my couch in darkness,
If I look for Sheol as my house, if I spread my couch in darkness,
If I look for Sheol as my house, if I spread my couch in darkness,
If I hope for the underworld as my dwelling, lay out my bed in darkness,
“But if I look to Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead) as my home, If I make my bed in the darkness,
If I hope for Sheol as my house, if I make my bed in darkness,
If my only hope is dwelling in Sheol, and spreading my couch in darkness,
If I hope for Sheol as my home, I make my bed in the darkness;
If the only home I hope for is ·the grave [L Sheol; C the place of the dead], if I spread out my bed in darkness,
If I hope for Sheol as my home, if I make my bed in darkness,
If I look for Sheol as my house, if I spread my couch in darkness,
Suppose the only home I can hope for is a grave. And suppose I make my bed in the darkness of death.
If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
“If I hope for Sh’ol to be my house; if I spread my couch in the dark;
If I look for Sheol as my house, if I spread my couch in darkness,
If I wait, Sheol is mine bais; I have made my bed in the choshech.
If I look for the grave as my home and make my bed in the darkness,
If I wait, the grave is my house; I have made my bed in the darkness.
“I might hope for the grave to be my new home. I might hope to make my bed in the dark grave.
It might be that the only home I hope for is where the dead are. I might spread out my bed in darkness.
If I hope for Sheol as my house, if I spread my couch in the darkness,
If the only home I hope for is the grave, if I spread out my bed in the realm of darkness,
