Ye say , God layeth up his iniquity for his children. Let him recompense it unto himself, that he may know it:
+God layeth up the punishment of his iniquity for his children; he rewardeth him, and he shall know it:
God shall lay up the sorrow of the father for his children: and when he shall repay, then shall he know.
Ye say, God layeth up his iniquity for his children. Let him recompense it unto himself, that he may know it.
You say, ‘God stores up their iniquity for their children.’ Let him pay it out to them, that they may know it.
"[You say,] 'God saves a person's punishment for his children.' God should pay back that person so that he would know that it is a punishment.
God reserves a person's punishment for his children. Let God repay the person himself, so that he may know it.
God stores up their iniquity to repay their children; making them repay so that they may be aware.
You may say, 'God stores up a man's punishment for his children!' Instead let him repay the man himself so that he may know it!
"You say, 'God stores away a man's iniquity for his sons.' Let God repay him so that he may know it.
It is said, 'God stores up the punishment of the wicked for their children.' Let him repay the wicked, so that they themselves will experience it!
"'Well,' you say, 'at least God will punish their children!' But I say he should punish the ones who sin, so that they understand his judgment.

You may say, “God will punish a wicked person's children with the punishment that he deserves.” But I say that God should punish the wicked person himself. Then he will realize that he is wicked.

It is said, “God stores away a man’s misdeeds and delivers them to his children.” Let Him repay the man Himself, so the man can know it.
“‘Well,’ you say, ‘at least God will punish their children!’ But I say that God should punish the man who sins, not his children! Let him feel the penalty himself.
“According to you, God stores up punishment for a man’s children, but the wicked should be the ones punished and requited for their evil.
You say, ‘God stores away a man’s wickedness for his sons.’ Let God repay him so that he may know it.
God shall lay up his violence for their sons; and he will reward him so that he shall know it.
God reserves a person’s punishment for his children. Let God repay the person himself, so that he may know it.
You say, God lays up [the punishment of the wicked man’s] iniquity for his children. Let Him recompense it to the man himself, that he may know and feel it.
It is said, ‘God saves up a person’s punishment for his children.’ But God should punish the wicked themselves so they will know it.
“Still, how often does it happen that the wicked fail, or disaster strikes, or they get their just deserts? How often are they blown away by bad luck? Not very often. You might say, ‘God is saving up the punishment for their children.’ I say, ‘Give it to them right now so they’ll know what they’ve done!’ They deserve to experience the effects of their evil, feel the full force of God’s wrath firsthand. What do they care what happens to their families after they’re safely tucked away in the grave?
People say, “God stores up a man’s punishment for his children,” but he should repay the man himself so that he experiences it!
You say, ‘God stores up their iniquity for their children.’ Let it be paid back to them, so that they may know it.
You claim God punishes a child for the sins of his father. No! Let God punish the sinners themselves; let him show that he does it because of their sins.
(Ye say,) God shall keep the sorrow of the father to his sons; and when he hath yielded to them vengeance, then he shall know it. (Ye say, God shall put the father’s punishment upon his sons; but I say, No! he shall yield vengeance to him who deserveth it, and he shall know it.)
You say, “God will punish those sinners' children in place of those sinners.” But I say, “Let him punish those sinners themselves until they really feel it.
You say, ‘God stores up their iniquity for their sons.’ Let him recompense it to themselves, that they may know it.
You say, ‘God stores up their iniquity for their children.’ Let it be paid back to them, so that they may know it.
You say, “God stores up their iniquity for their children.” Let it be paid back to them, so that they may know it.
God stores up his punishment for his children. Let him destroy them so they know.
“You say, ‘God stores away [the punishment of] man’s wickedness for his children.’ Let God repay him so that he may know and experience it.
You say, ‘God stores up their iniquity for their children.’ Let him pay it out to them, that they may know it.
“God is storing up the man’s misery for his children”?— let him requite the man himself so that he knows it!
You say, ‘God saves up a person’s wrongdoing for his sons.’ Let God repay him so that he may know it.
It is said [C defenders of the idea that the wicked suffer for their sins], ‘God ·saves [stores] up a person’s ·punishment [guilt] for his children.’ But God should ·punish [pay back] the wicked themselves so they will know it.
You say, ‘God stores up the punishment for his children.’ Let Him repay the wicked so he may know it!
You say, ‘God stores up their iniquity for their sons.’ Let him recompense it to themselves, that they may know it.
People say, ‘God stores up the punishment of evil people for their children.’ But let God punish the evil people themselves. Then they’ll learn a lesson from it.
God layeth up his iniquity for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know it.
God lays up for their children [the punishment for their] iniquity. He should lay it on [the wicked] themselves, so that they can feel it!
You say, “God stores up their iniquity for their children.” Let it be paid back to them, so that they may know it.
Eloah layeth up his iniquity for his banim; He payeth him back, and he shall know it.
“You say, ‘Eloah saves a person’s punishment for his children.’ Eloah should pay back that person so that he would know that it is a punishment.
God stores up their iniquity for their children; let Him reward the people themselves, and they will know it.
But you say, ‘God is saving their punishment for their children.’ No! Let God punish the evil people themselves so that they will know what they have done!
It is said, ‘God saves up a man’s punishment for the man’s children.’ God should punish the evil person himself so he will know it.
‘God stores up his iniquity for his children’? Then let him repay it to him that he may know.
It is said, “God stores up the punishment of the wicked for their children.” Let him repay the wicked, so that they themselves will experience it!
