If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;

If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or caused the eyes of the widow to fail;
If I have denied to the poor what they desired, and have made the eyes of the widow wait:
If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;
“If I have withheld anything that the poor desired, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,
"If I have refused the requests of the poor or made a widow's eyes stop [looking for help],
If I have refused the wishes of the poor or let the widow's eyes go blind,
"If I refused to grant the desire of the poor or exhausted the eyes of the widow,
If I have refused to give the poor what they desired, or caused the eyes of the widow to fail,
"If I have kept the poor from their desire, Or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,
"If I have denied the desires of the poor or let the eyes of the widow grow weary,
"Have I refused to help the poor, or crushed the hopes of widows?
If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;
"If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,
I have never refused to help people who are poor. I have always helped widows to hope for good things.
If I withhold from pleasure the poor, And the eyes of the widow do consume,
“If I have kept what the poor should have or have caused the eyes of the woman whose husband has died to be tired,
If I have stood between the poor and the object of their desire, if I have caused a widow to lose her love of life,
“If I have hurt the poor, or caused widows to weep,
“Have I ignored the needs of the poor or caused the eyes of widows to overflow with tears?
“If I have held back the poor from their desire, Or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,
If I have disturbed the desire of the poor or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;
If I have refused the wishes of the poor or let the widow’s eyes go blind,
If I have withheld from the poor and needy what they desired, or have caused the eyes of the widow to look in vain [for relief],
“I have never refused the appeals of the poor or let widows give up hope while looking for help.
“Have I ignored the needs of the poor, turned my back on the indigent, Taken care of my own needs and fed my own face while they languished? Wasn’t my home always open to them? Weren’t they always welcome at my table?
If I have withheld from the poor what they desired, if I have darkened the eyes of the widow,
“If I have withheld anything that the poor desired, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,
I have never refused to help the poor; never have I let widows live in despair
If I denied to poor men that, that they would, and if I made the eyes of a widow to abide; (If I denied to the poor what they needed, or if I made the eyes of a widow to have despair;)
I have never cheated widows or others in need,
“If I have withheld anything that the poor desired, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,
“If I have withheld anything that the poor desired or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail
‘If I have withheld anything that the poor desired, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,
If I have denied what the poor wanted, made a widow’s eyes tired,
“If I have withheld from the poor what they desired, Or have caused the eyes of the widow to look in vain [for relief],
“If I have withheld anything that the poor desired, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,
If I have denied anything that the poor desired, or allowed the eyes of the widow to languish
“If I have kept the poor from their desire, Or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,
“I have never ·refused the appeals of the poor [or deprived the poor of some pleasure] or ·let widows give up hope while looking for help [L caused the eyes of the widow to fail].
“If I withheld the desires of the poor or let the eyes of the widow to fail,
“If I have withheld anything that the poor desired, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,
“I haven’t said no to what poor people have wanted. I haven’t let widows lose their hope.
If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;
“If I held back anything needed by the poor or made a widow’s eye grow dim [with tears],
‘If I have withheld anything that the poor desired, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,
If I have withheld the poor from their chefetz (desire), or have caused the eyes of the almanah to grow weary,
“If I have refused the requests of the poor or made a widow’s eyes stop looking for help,
“If I have kept the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,
“I have never refused to help the poor. I always gave widows what they needed.
“I have never refused anything the poor wanted. I have never let widows give up hope while looking for help.
“If I have withheld the desire of the poor from them, or I have caused the widow’s eyes to fail,
‘If I have denied the desires of the poor or let the eyes of the widow grow weary,
