"Job's friends have been overwhelmed and don't have any more answers. They don't have another word to say.
Job's friends are dismayed and can no longer answer; words have left them.
"Job's friends won't reason with him anymore; discouraged, words escape them.
"They are dismayed and cannot answer any more; they have nothing left to say.
"They are dismayed, they no longer answer; Words have failed them.
"They are dismayed and have no more to say; words have failed them.
You sit there baffled, with nothing more to say.
They were amazed, they answered no more: they left off speaking.

Now they are upset! They have no more answers to give. There is nothing more that they can say.
(They have broken down, They have not answered again, They removed from themselves words.
“They are troubled and have no more to say. Words do not come.
They are all undone, unhinged, embarrassed! They have no response! Their faculty of speech has apparently failed them!
“You sit there baffled, with no further replies.
“These three men are confounded and unable to respond; words have failed them.
“They are dismayed; they no longer answer; Words have moved away from them.
They were amazed, they answered no more; they left off speaking.
Job’s friends are dismayed and can no longer answer; words have left them.
[Job’s friends] are amazed and embarrassed, they answer no more; they have not a thing to say [reports Elihu].
“These three friends are defeated and have no more to say; words have failed them.
“Do you three have nothing else to say? Of course you don’t! You’re total frauds! Why should I wait any longer, now that you’re stopped dead in your tracks? I’m ready to speak my piece. That’s right! It’s my turn—and it’s about time! I’ve got a lot to say, and I’m bursting to say it. The pressure has built up, like lava beneath the earth. I’m a volcano ready to blow. I have to speak—I have no choice. I have to say what’s on my heart, And I’m going to say it straight— the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. I was never any good at bootlicking; my Maker would make short work of me if I started in now!”
Those three are shattered. They no longer respond. They have run out of words.
“They are dismayed, they answer no more; they have not a word to say.
Words have failed them, Job; they have no answer for you.
They [much] dreaded, and answered no more, and took away speech from themselves. (For, Job, they be afraid, and have no more answers, and nothing left to say.)
All of you are shocked; you don't know what to say.
“They are discomfited, they answer no more; they have not a word to say.
“They are dismayed; they answer no more; they have not a word to say.
‘They are dismayed, they answer no more; they have not a word to say.
They are troubled, no longer answer; words now escape them.
“They (Job’s friends) are dismayed and embarrassed, they no longer answer; The words have moved away and failed them,” [says Elihu].

They are dismayed, they make no more reply; words fail them.
“They are dismayed, they no longer answer; Words have failed them.
“·These three friends [L They] are ·defeated [dismayed; discouraged] and ·have no more to say [cannot answer]; words have failed them.

“They are discomfited, they answer no more; they have not a word to say.
“Job, these men are afraid. They don’t have anything else to say. They’ve run out of words.

“They are confused, they don’t reply, words have failed them.
