In your opinion, should God then punish such a person because he rejected his laws? For it is up to you to decide, not me; therefore, please enlighten us.

Will he perchance finish his work by thee; whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose, or by me? Speak what thou knowest.

“So why don’t you simply confess to God? Say, ‘I sinned, but I’ll sin no more. Teach me to see what I still don’t see. Whatever evil I’ve done, I’ll do it no more.’ Just because you refuse to live on God’s terms, do you think he should start living on yours? You choose. I can’t do it for you. Tell me what you decide.

Since you object to what God does, can you expect him to do what you want? The decision is yours, not mine; tell us now what you think.
Whether God asketh that wickedness of thee, for it displeased thee? For thou hast begun to speak, and not I; (so) that if thou knowest anything better, speak thou that.
Do you make the rules, or does God? You have to decide— I can't do it for you; now make up your mind.

But you refuse to turn away from your sins. So God won’t treat you the way you want to be treated. You must decide, Job. I can’t do it for you. So tell me what you know.

Must his rewards meet your approval? Well, you are the one who doesn’t like them, so you, not I, should pick the alternative; come on, say what you think!

Will He then recompense to suit you, just because you disavow it? Thou must choose, not I; therefore speak that of which thou hast da’as.
Should El reward you on your own terms since you have rejected his? You must choose, not I. Tell me what you know. Speak!
