Surely, if the clouds maintain such a distance, one must wonder: how high up and far away is God? If you sin, how much have you really accomplished against Him? If you pile up your sins, if you stack them high, what does it do to Him?
If you sin, does that shake the heavens and knock God from his throne? Even if you sin again and again, what effect will it have upon him?
If you sin, how can that affect God? And if your offenses are multiplied, how do you hurt him?

If you sin, what difference could that make to God? No matter how much you sin, will it matter to him? Even if you’re good, what would God get out of that? Do you think he’s dependent on your accomplishments? The only ones who care whether you’re good or bad are your family and friends and neighbors. God’s not dependent on your behavior.
