Don’t I know the difference between right and wrong? Would I not admit it if I had sinned?
Does evil issue forth from my lips? Would I not realize it if I spoke untruthfully?
Is there unrighteousness on my tongue? Cannot my palate discern destruction?
If there is iniquity in my tongue or if my taste cannot discern the torments.
Is there injustice on my tongue or can my palate not taste disaster?
Is there wrong on my tongue? Cannot my taste discern what is destructive?
What I am saying is not wicked; I can tell the difference between right and wrong.
“Look me in the eyes! Do you think I’d lie to your face? Think it over—no double-talk! Think carefully—my integrity is on the line! Can you detect anything false in what I say? Don’t you trust me to discern good from evil?”
