And shall we also be disobedient and do all this great evil to transgress against our God, and marry strange women?

Shall we then listen to you and do all this great evil and act treacherously against our God by marrying foreign women?”

Should we follow your example, commit such a serious crime against our God, and be unfaithful to him by marrying non-Israelite women?"

Why then should we hear about you doing all this terrible evil and acting unfaithfully against our God by marrying foreign women?"

Should we listen to you and do all of this terrible evil by transgressing against our God to marry foreign wives?"

Should we then in your case hear that you do all this great evil, thereby being unfaithful to our God by marrying foreign wives?"

"Do we then hear about you that you have committed all this great evil by acting unfaithfully against our God by marrying foreign women?"

Must we hear now that you too are doing all this terrible wickedness and are being unfaithful to our God by marrying foreign women?"

How could you even think of committing this sinful deed and acting unfaithfully toward God by marrying foreign women?"

Shall we then hearken to you to do all this great evil, to transgress against our God in marrying foreign wives?

We can never agree to all the evil things that you have done. If we all married foreign women, we would not be faithful to our God.’

And to you do we hearken to do all this great evil, to trespass against our God, to settle strange women?'

Should we hear now that you also are sinning in the same way by not being faithful to our God, by marrying women from other nations?”

Now we discover that you have embraced the same wicked ways, betraying our God by marrying these foreign women.

Do you think that we will let you get away with this sinful deed?”

Also in those days I saw Jews who had married women from Ashdod, Ammon, and Moab. Half the children couldn’t even speak the language of Judah; all they knew was the language of Ashdod or some other tongue. So I took those men to task, gave them a piece of my mind, even slapped some of them and jerked them by the hair. I made them swear to God: “Don’t marry your daughters to their sons; and don’t let their daughters marry your sons—and don’t you yourselves marry them! Didn’t Solomon the king of Israel sin because of women just like these? Even though there was no king quite like him, and God loved him and made him king over all Israel, foreign women were his downfall. Do you call this obedience—engaging in this extensive evil, showing yourselves faithless to God by marrying foreign wives?”

Should we listen to you and be led to do all this great evil, so that we end up being unfaithful to our God by marrying foreign women?”

Are we to give in to you and let you continue in this very great evil, breaking faith with our God by marrying foreign women?”

Shall we then listen to you and do all this great evil and act treacherously against our God by marrying foreign women?’

Shall we then pay heed unto you to do all this great evil, to transgress against Eloheinu in marrying strange wives?

Should we follow your example, commit such a serious crime against our Elohim, and be unfaithful to him by marrying non-Israelite women?”

Should we then listen to you, the ones doing all this great evil, who are behaving unfaithfully against our God by bedding foreign women?”

And now, we hear that you also are doing this terrible sin. You are not being true to our God. You are marrying foreign women.”

And now you are not obedient when you do this evil thing. You are unfaithful to our God when you marry foreign wives.”

Should we listen to you all and do this great evil, acting unfaithfully against our God by marrying foreign women?”

Must we hear now that you too are doing all this terrible wickedness and are being unfaithful to our God by marrying foreign women?’
