It so happened that when our adversaries heard that we were aware of these matters, God frustrated their intentions. Then all of us returned to the wall, each to his own work.

Our enemies learned that we knew all about their plan and that God had frustrated it. And we went back to the wall and went to work. Each of the builders had a sword strapped to his side as he worked. I kept the trumpeter at my side to sound the alert.

(And it was done, that our enemies heard that everything had been told to us, and so God destroyed their plans; and then we all returned to rebuilding the wall, each man to his own work.)
