And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the spirit of God came on him.

When Balaam looked out and saw Israel encamped tribe by tribe, the Spirit of God came on him

where he saw the people of Israel camped, tribe by tribe. Then the Spirit of God came upon him,

Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came on him.

When he looked, he saw the Israelite people. They had put up their tents in groups for each tribe. Then the Spirit of God came on him.

and Balaam lifteth up his eyes, and seeth Israel tabernacling, by its tribes, and the Spirit of God is upon him,

Balaam looked up and saw Israel living in their tents by their families. And the Spirit of God came upon him.

Seeing the Israelites camping there, in their orderly arrangement by tribes, he was suddenly overcome by God’s Spirit.

which stretched away across the plains, divided by tribal areas. Then the Spirit of God came upon him,

When Balaam saw the Israelites camped in their tribes, the Spirit of God took control of him,

By now Balaam realized that God wanted to bless Israel. So he didn’t work in any sorcery as he had done earlier. He turned and looked out over the wilderness. As Balaam looked, he saw Israel camped tribe by tribe. The Spirit of God came on him, and he spoke his oracle-message: Decree of Balaam son of Beor, yes, decree of a man with 20/20 vision; Decree of a man who hears God speak, who sees what The Strong God shows him, Who falls on his face in worship, who sees what’s really going on. What beautiful tents, Jacob, oh, your homes, Israel! Like valleys stretching out in the distance, like gardens planted by rivers, Like sweet herbs planted by the gardener God, like red cedars by pools and springs, Their buckets will brim with water, their seed will spread life everywhere. Their king will tower over Agag and his ilk, their kingdom surpassingly majestic. God brought them out of Egypt, rampaging like a wild ox, Gulping enemies like morsels of meat, crushing their bones, snapping their arrows. Israel crouches like a lion and naps, king-of-the-beasts—who dares disturb him? Whoever blesses you is blessed, whoever curses you is cursed.

When Balaam lifted up his eyes and saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes, the Spirit of God was upon him.

Balaam looked up and saw Israel camping tribe by tribe. Then the spirit of God came upon him,

and saw the people of Israel camped tribe by tribe. The spirit of God took control of him,

and he raised up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling in tents by his lineages (and he raised up his eyes, and he saw the Israelites living in their tents, tribe by tribe). And when the Spirit of God fell upon him,

and saw the tribes of Israel camped below. Just then, God's Spirit took control of him,

Bil‘am raised his eyes and saw Isra’el encamped tribe by tribe. Then the Spirit of God came upon him,

Balaam looked up and saw Israel camping tribe by tribe. Then the spirit of God came upon him,

And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Yisroel encamped according to their Shevatim; and the Ruach Elohim came upon him.

looked up, and saw Israel’s camp grouped by tribes. The Ruach Elohim entered him,

Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling in their tents by their tribes, and the Spirit of God came on him.

He looked out across the desert and saw all the Israelites. They were camped with the tribes in their different areas. Then the Spirit of God came on him,

Balaam saw the Israelites camped in their tribes. Then the Spirit of God entered him.

Balaam lift up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to its tribes, and the spirit of God was upon it.

When Balaam looked out and saw Israel encamped tribe by tribe, the Spirit of God came on him
