The dead cannot offer praise anymore than those who have never lived; only those who are alive and well sing the Lord’s praises.
From the dead, as from one who does not exist, thanksgiving has ceased; those who are alive and well sing the Lord’s praises.
A person who is alive and well can sing the Lord's praises, but the dead, who no longer exist, have no way to give him thanks.
Dwell thou not in the error of wicked men. Acknowledge thou before death; acknowledging perisheth from a dead man, as nothing. Living thou shalt acknowledge, living and whole thou shalt acknowledge, and shalt praise God; and thou shalt have glory in the merciful doings of him. [Not fast abide thou in the error of unpious men. Before death acknowledge; from the dead as nought perisheth confession. Thou shalt acknowledge living, living and whole thou shalt acknowledge, and praise God; and glory in the mercy doings of him.]
From the dead, as from one who does not exist, thanksgiving has ceased; he who is alive and well sings the Lord’s praises.
From the dead, as from one who does not exist, thanksgiving has ceased; those who are alive and well sing the Lord’s praises.
From the dead, as from one who does not exist, thanksgiving has ceased; those who are alive and well sing the Lord’s praises.
From the dead thanksgiving has perished, since they are no longer alive; those who are alive and healthy will praise the Lord.
The dead can no more give praise than those who have never lived; they who are alive and well glorify the Lord.
From the dead, as from one who does not exist, thanksgiving has ceased; he who is alive and well sings the Lord’s praises.
From the dead, as from one who does not exist, thanksgiving has ceased; those who are alive and well sing the Lord’s praises.
