whereas, man may slay in malice, but he has no power to restore the breath of life or to set free the soul imprisoned by death.
A person in wickedness kills another, but cannot bring back the departed spirit, or set free the imprisoned soul.
A wicked person may kill someone, but cannot bring the dead person back to life or rescue a soul imprisoned in the world of the dead.
But soothly a man slayeth his soul by malice; and when the spirit is gone out, it shall not (re)turn again, neither the body shall again-call the soul, which is received; [A man forsooth slayeth by malice his soul; and when the spirit goeth out, he shall not turn again, nor the soul, that is received, shall again-call;]
