But realizing that I could not possess Wisdom unless God gave her to me— and this itself was an indication of understanding, to know the source of that gift— I turned to the Lord and implored him and with all my heart I said:
But I perceived that I would not possess wisdom unless God gave her to me— and it was a mark of insight to know whose gift she was— so I appealed to the Lord and implored him, and with my whole heart I said:
And as I knew, that else I may not be chaste, no but God give it, and this same thing was wisdom, to know whose this gift was; I went to the Lord, and I besought him, and I said, of (or with) all mine entrails (of mine heart). [And as I knew, for otherwise I may not be continent, either chaste, but God give, and that self was wisdom, to know of whom was that gift; I went to the Lord, and prayed him and said, of all the entrails of mine heart.]
But I perceived that I would not possess wisdom unless God gave her to me— and it was a mark of insight to know whose gift she was— so I appealed to the Lord and besought him, and with my whole heart I said:

But I knew that there was no way I could possess Wisdom unless God gave her to me (and to know this was also a mark of intelligence!). So I came before the Lord and pleaded with him. I said with all my heart:
