Wail, you residents of the Hollow, for all the merchants will be silenced; all those loaded with silver will be cut off.
"Wail, you who live in the market district, because all of the merchants will be crushed and all of their customers will be eliminated.
Wail, you who live in the market district, for all the merchants will disappear and those who count money will be removed.
"Wail, O inhabitants of the Mortar, For all the people of Canaan will be silenced; All who weigh out silver will be cut off.
Wail, you who live in the market district; all your merchants will be wiped out, all who trade with silver will be destroyed.
Wail in sorrow, all you who live in the market area, for all the merchants and traders will be destroyed.
Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.
Wail, you inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the people of Canaan are undone! All those who were loaded with silver are cut off.
Shout out, you who live near Jerusalem's market! Weep! The Lord will remove the traders from your town. Some people have lots of money there. But all those people will be dead then.’
Howl, ye inhabitants of the hollow place, For cut off hath been all the merchant people, Cut off have been all bearing silver.
Cry in a loud voice, you people who live in the part of the city where people buy and sell. For all the traders of Canaan will be destroyed. All who weigh out silver will be cut off.
Cry out, those of you living in the bottom of Jerusalem’s southern hollow, because I will stop all the traveling merchants. Everyone with pockets full of money will be cut off.
“Wail in sorrow, you people of Jerusalem. All your greedy businessmen, all your loan sharks—all will die.
Wail, O inhabitants of the Mortar, for all the merchants will perish, and all those who weigh out silver will be ruined.
Wail, O inhabitants of the Mortar, For all the people of Canaan will be silenced; All who weigh out silver will be cut off.
Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all those that brought ye silver are cut off.
Wail, you residents of the Hollow, for all the merchants will be silenced; all those loaded with silver will be cut off.
Wail, you inhabitants of the Mortar [those located in the hollow part of the city]! For all the merchant people, like the people of Canaan, will be silent [entirely destroyed]; all those who weighed out silver and were loaded with it will be cut off.
Cry, you people living in the market area, because all the merchants will be dead; all the silver traders will be gone.
“Quiet now! Reverent silence before me, God, the Master! Time’s up. My Judgment Day is near: The Holy Day is all set, the invited guests made holy. On the Holy Day, God’s Judgment Day, I will punish the leaders and the royal sons; I will punish those who dress up like foreign priests and priestesses, Who introduce pagan prayers and practices; And I’ll punish all who import pagan superstitions that turn holy places into hellholes. Judgment Day!” God’s Decree! “Cries of panic from the city’s Fish Gate, Cries of terror from the city’s Second Quarter, sounds of great crashing from the hills! Wail, you shopkeepers on Market Street! Moneymaking has had its day. The god Money is dead. On Judgment Day, I’ll search through every closet and alley in Jerusalem. I’ll find and punish those who are sitting it out, fat and lazy, amusing themselves and taking it easy, Who think, ‘God doesn’t do anything, good or bad. He isn’t involved, so neither are we.’ But just wait. They’ll lose everything they have, money and house and land. They’ll build a house and never move in. They’ll plant vineyards and never taste the wine.
Wail, you who sit in the marketplace, for all the merchants are destroyed. All those who weigh out silver will be cut off.
The inhabitants of the Mortar wail, for all the traders have perished; all who weigh out silver are cut off.
Wail and cry when you hear this, you that live in the lower part of the city, because all the merchants will be dead!
Yell ye, dwellers of Pila; all the people of Canaan was still together, all men wrapped in silver perished. (Yell, ye inhabitants of Maktesh; and then all the merchant people were altogether silent, or perished, and also all those dealing in silver perished.)
Everyone in Lower Hollow will mourn loudly, because merchants and money changers will be wiped out.
Wail, O inhabitants of the Mortar! For all the traders are no more; all who weigh out silver are cut off.

The ones who grind the grain will wail; all the merchants will be silenced. I will eliminate all those weighing out silver.

“Howl, inhabitants of the Mortar, because all the merchants will be destroyed and all who handle money will be killed.
Wail, you inhabitants of the Mortar! For all the merchants are cut down; all those who weigh out silver are cut off.
You people living in the lower part of town will cry, because all the traders and rich merchants will be destroyed.
The people living in the market area will wail. All the merchants will be dead. All the silver traders will be gone.
The inhabitants of the Mortar shall wail, for all the traders have perished; all who trade with silver have been cut off.
